Bistrița Năsăud County
On the territory of Bistrița Năsăud county there are 3 of the important vineyards in Transylvania, namely Lechința-Bistrița, Lechința-Teaca, and Lechința, with a cultivated area of over 430 hectares, with geographical indication Transilvania Hills. The Thematic Route The Wine Road passing through Ciceu-Mihăești, Petru Rareș, Uriu, Braniștea, Nușeni, Chiochiș, Matei, Sânmihaiu de Câmpie, Budești, Urmeniș, Milaș, Teaca, Miceștii de Câmpie, Silivașu de Câmpie, Șieu, Galații Bistriței, Lechința, Șieu Odorhei, Șieu Măgheruș , Mărișelu, Budacu de Jos, Cetate, Livezile and Dumitra the localities that delimit the Wine Country today. The route is about 180 km and crosses municipalities – Bistrița, also 24 territorial administrative units UAT, each remarkable by its culture and traditions. The German population redefined the importance of the local climate and the famous terraced soils, maintaining the tradition of the vineyards in the area. The types of wine you can find here are: Traminer Pink/Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Neuburger, Riesling Italian, Riesling of Rhin, Fetească Regală, Fetească Albă, Furmint.
