Hunedoara County

On the territory of Hunedoara county there are the vineyards in Transylvania, namely Geoagiu and Șoimuș, with a cultivated area of over 30 hectares, with geographical indication Transilvania Hills. The Thematic Route The Wine Road passing through Geoagiu and Șoimuș, the localities that delimit the Wine Country today. The route is about 40 km and crosses 2 territorial administrative units UAT, each remarkable by its culture and traditions. The German population redefined the importance of the local climate and the famous terraced soils, maintaining the tradition of the vineyards in the area. The types of wine you can find here are: Traminer Pink/Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Neuburger, Riesling Italian, Riesling of Rhin, Fetească Regală, Fetească Albă, Furmint. Digital maps locate wine cellars, vinotheques, cellars and vineyards, also tasting centers.
